President Bush comes to our neighborhood

King David Hotel Here is a photo from our apartment looking toward the nearby King David Hotel where President Bush will be staying in the $2,600-a-night Royal Suite. Although Bush will get a dignitary discount during his three days, his visit will fill all of the King David’s 237 rooms (90 pre-booked guests were canceled). The 800 rooms of the hotel Dan Panorama, around the corner from us, are already filled with the media and support personnel. The Jerusalem Post reported that Israel will spend $400,000 cleaning up the city for his arrival. I guess it is time to toss out our Christmas tree onto the sidewalk in celebration.

After making sure everything from robots checking sewers to snipers checking rooftops, my beloved president will touch down in his helicopter. I have a front row seat adjacent the American Consulate offices.

It has been speculated that Bush might not be so adamant about coercing Israel to give up half of Jerusalem to enemies that are currently waging war against her, if he had stayed at some fancy hotel in Serdot or Ashkelon… where rockets are still being fired at Israel from the democratically elected Hamas government of Gaza. And that Bush sponsored success story raked in about 200 million dollars from US taxpayers last year.

The Bush plan is hated by so many that it is no wonder more than one-third of Israel’s entire police force, 10,500 policemen and security personnel, will be deployed to protect Bush and keep order during his visit.

Leave me a comment if you want me to tell my president anything for you…
USA Israel flags
Historical notes:
In 1946, the King David Hotel lost a wing to Irgun fighters who bombed it after the British had continually refused to allow Jewish refugees, already terrorisized by Holocaust, sanction in their historical homeland. Although Irgun intended to only destroy property, the British officers ignored the warning note to leave the building, and 91 people were killed.

Around 1000 BC, King David’s greatest threat came from his son Absalom. David nurtured the relationship along only to see Absalom turn against him. [It is so sad to see the current trusting and naive leadership of Israel nurture along its relationship with the USA, only to know the USA will soon turn against Israel, like the rest of the world has. But like the pride of Absalom, so too the USA will be destroyed when it comes against the Lord's anointed. For more see Zechariah 12, " that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."]
