The Eiffel tower

The Eiffel tower was made in memory of the French Revolution. Gustave Eiffel’s design was chosen out of 700 proposals that where submitted for a design competition. At 300 meters (320.75 m including antenna), and 7,000 tons, it was the world’s tallest building until 1930.

The moment we got to the Eiffel tower, I thought: That would be pretty cool to get pictures of Paris from up there. Not to mention even being up there. But unfortunately, the line seemed to stretch on forever. We didn’t go up that day. We went up that night. We stopped by that night, and only had to wait for about 2 minutes to get on the elevator. The elevator somehow was lifted by weights.

Glass windows were on all sides of the elevator, except the floor. It was crowded with tourists, but even so I got a video of us going up.

We arrived at the second floor, and I got a couple of pictures from there, but every time I took a picture I would have to brace the camera against something to get them to be clear. Still they were not as I would like them to look.

Finally we went up a elevator, and landed on top of Paris. The view was spectacular!

On the way down, the elevator paused, “anyone want to get out?” no one moved. I thought ‘well, if no one is on this floor, then I guess it won’t be crouded at all! so I asked mom if we could get out. We did, and by stopping at that floor it made the hole trip worth the while. The view was clearer on the 2 floor than it was on the 3rd!

We walked around on that floor for a while, and found a mini movie theater. The movie in it was just starting, so we sat down on little strange O shaped chairs and watched it. It told pretty much everything about the Eiffel tower.

All in all, It was a awesome experience.

P.S. My sister also got a video of me doing the Chinese yo-yo under the Eiffel tower. This video and the one of us going up the tower will be coming soon! Stay posted (No pun intended)
