Ratatouille and “Happy Birthday” in French

Remember that movie with the rat who hates eating junk and wants to become a chef in Paris? Perhaps you need to see it! (here is the trailer) In the end of the movie, the little rat makes a special French country dish called “Ratatouille.” It is a real dish and looks just like it does in the movies. We ate it with a French family in their home for dinner! After the main dish our hosting family fed us Chocolate cake, as it was my brothers birthday, and we had sips of champaign (That’s European culture for ya ;) ).

Currently my father is giving the head of the house a harmonica lesson while my sister is teaching Marion, our “Couch hostess”, the cup game. (Couch Hostess?? Check out how we roll, where we end up and why here)Boy howdy! We had a full day today at Versailles palace. The gardens were huge and the lakes were wide. Sadly our camera battery went dead so we do not have many photos.

The day before, we where in Paris. Its spectacular architecture and generally clean streets and parks astounded us all. Paris is not like the movies. Perhaps at night, when Eiffel tower is lit up it resembles Holly Woods interpretations.

As we are going chronologically backwards, I find myself in a bus. (Sorry to switch tenses on you, terrible writing, I know) The bus is filled with people from “don unda” (New Zealand and Australia) and of course, a french bus driver. As we head to our motel, the australians tell us they are from Tazmania. When the New Zealanders hop on the bus the Australians tell them they are from Tazzy. Spectacular slang, don’t you think? Jazzy!

Enough of the past in the present. Onward with the future (Supposedly). In 4 hourse we are heading to Dublin Ireland. There I will take my math test and begin writing my next composition. From there we then go to Frankfurt and then to Munich… If my information is correct. My dear friends, thank you for you interest in my life and that of my families. For your entertainment pleasure and for my lack of a conclusion statement, here is a short video into the birthday party of 2 hours ago:

There you have it! I’ve got a plane to catch! Nate
